Anthropology/AMER 183-01: Urban Borderlands - This community-based research seminar integrates academic and experiential learning in an ongoing (since 2001) project documenting the history and development of Cambridge and Somerville’s Latino communities, and their interactions
with other resident and new immigrant groups.

Child and Family Guide - a directory for parents, professionals and students staffed by undergraduate and graduate students in diverse disciplines.
Community Language Bank: Somerville - student-operated service for affordable, reliable translation and interpretation.
Community Music - offers Saturday classes throughout the school year for students ages 3-18 in addition to programs for adults. Community Music offers 4-6 free concerts for children on Saturdays. Tufts music students also serve as mentors for Somerville and Medford public schools.
Leonard Carmichael Societ: Youth and Mentoring - a sub-group of the Leonard Carmichael Society which offers services and advocacy to provide mentorship, friendship, and help to youth in Tufts' host communities. This sub-group includes All Stars, Big Brothers of Massachusetts Bay, CHILD (Caring Helps in Living with Disabilities), GIRLS (Girl Interaction Raising Levels of Self Esteem), Kids' Day, Peace Games, Special Friends, and the Traveling Treasure Trunk.
Tufts University Art Gallery - offers free, guided tours of its exhibitions through its Gallery Guide program, Voice Your Vision!. We are a volunteer organization of Tufts students trained in current museum tour practices.• Voice Your Vision! tours use the Visual Thinking Strategies technique (VTS). Knowledge of art is not required! VTS uses art to teach thinking, communication skills, and visual literacy.
Work-study: Community Service - to develop off campus community service work study jobs for all work study students (undergrad and graduate) with federal, state or local public or private non-profit agencies that are in the public interest. Students must receive federal work study funds to be eligible.
Writing Fellows Program: Clemente Course Tutoring - Tufts Writing Fellows, who are trained undergraduate tutors, have the opportunity to run writing workshops and provide writing assistance to adults enrolled in the DotWell/Bard College Clemente Course in the Humanities at the Codman Square Health Center in Dorchester.
